Monitoring and diagnosis of respiratory diseases in children
In the INFANT Foundation, we are carrying out several studies with long-term follow-up of children to know the impact of respiratory diseases in childhood. Using novel lung function techniques worldwide (such as Forced Oscillation Technique) we try to describe and characterize lung physiology in diseases such as bronchiolitis, prematurity, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, respiratory viral infections and asthma. In order to find different forms of presentation and long-term behavior of the most frequent respiratory diseases in children.
Prevention of viral diseases.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Esteban participated in the randomized clinical trials carried out by the INFANT Foundation and I-Trials as Patient Identification Coordinator in the study “Evaluation of the Efficacy of the administration of Convalescent Plasma of COVID-19 in the reduction of the Progression to Severe Illness in Older Adults with Mild Symptoms by SARS-CoV-2 "and General Coordinator of the Pharmacovigilance Area of Phase 2/3 of the study" Safety and Efficacy of the mRNA BNT162b2 Vaccine against COVID-19 ".
